Valley Regional Transit has put on the Cranksgiving event for 8 years! This event is a scavenger hunt on bicycles. This year there was over 180 participants dressed and racing all over Boise to collect items for a Thanksgiving meal.  Together a total of 38 boxes were collected and built. St. Vincent de Paul is the soul recipient of these boxes and they are then given out at the Thanksgiving Food Box Program. In 2023 Cranksgiving feed 130 individuals through our program!

We purchase so many turkeys for the Thanksgiving Food Box Program and without the donation of a refrigerated truck for the turkeys to be stored in during distribution we couldn’t keep them at a food safe temperature.
