Thanksgiving 2024 Wrap-Up
This Thanksgiving, 16,473 of our neighbors enjoyed a holiday meal, thanks to the incredible generosity and hard work of our community. Together, we made sure that families across Southwest Idaho experienced the joy and comfort of the season.
Thanksgiving is about more than food—it’s about connection, hope, and showing that we care. For the families we served, it meant creating cherished moments, feeling supported, and knowing they’re not alone.
This year’s impact was made possible by 787 volunteers who dedicated 2,503 hours to packing and distributing Thanksgiving Food Boxes. From donations to hands-on support, your contributions were the heart of this effort, demonstrating what it means to come together as a community.
At St. Vincent de Paul Southwest Idaho, we’re honored to witness such generosity and kindness in action. Thank you for helping us make this Thanksgiving extraordinary.

For 48 years, the St. Vincent de Paul Society has sponsored an annual Thanksgiving food box outreach program for those less fortunate. This is a family-to-family act of charity. Your family can share the tradition of Thanksgiving with families in need.
A food box includes a turkey of at least 10 pounds, 10 pounds of potatoes, a roasting pan, and all the trimmings to provide a nice Thanksgiving meal for four to six people.
We welcome those of you who would like to follow our shopping list and create your own Thanksgiving food box to be presented to a family. To prepare a food box, click the Donate a Food Box button.
We understand why some of you are not comfortable shopping to fill a Thanksgiving food box. This year, if you would like to make a financial contribution instead, St. Vincent de Paul will do the shopping and put a box together on your behalf. The cost of a complete meal for four to six people is $80. To contribute financially, click the Financial Donation button.
We hope you will consider helping us. To volunteer your time, to build, collect, stage, or distribute Thanksgiving food boxes; click the Volunteer Your Time button.
Last year, the Thanksgiving Food Box Program provided over 13,300 neighbors with a Thanksgiving meal.
This is an opportunity for you to directly impact a family in need. Please consider helping us provide a Thanksgiving dinner for those who would otherwise be unable to afford one.
